About this practice tool

Talknicer.com focuses on the redesigned 2026 TOEFL® speaking section. We mirror the timing and expectations of the Listen and Repeat and Take an Interview tasks described by ETS® so you can practise with confidence.

The application keeps the microphone recorder and secure Google Cloud Storage workflow from the prior Talknicer beta, but removes chat, large language models, and phoneme models. Your browser cookie links attempts to a private key-value store entry in the Talknicer bucket so that your recordings and scores remain tied to your device.

Each score is based on Deepgram® word confidences cubed to emphasise clarity. The mean of those cubes is mapped to the official rubric bands, and the least intelligible span is highlighted for review.
